Invertebrates

Invertebrates get a bad rap – most people don’t like them, but they’re critical for our ecosystems and I doubt we could be here without them. I don’t go out of my way to find them, but when I do I’ll photograph them.

This is a Robber fly Ommatius mackayi that landed on our clothes line and was beautifully backlit which highlighted all its hairs. This pic was featured by the Queensland Museum in this article on Robber flies
